If you're planning a trip to Bar Harbor, chances are you're already going to be taking a lot of photos. Between the ocean, mountains, little coastal towns, and Acadia National Park right next door, it's pretty hard not to.

Everyone Gets to Be in the Photos
I think this is one of the biggest reasons to book a photographer while you're traveling.
Usually there's one person in the family or relationship who ends up taking all the photos. You get home and realize you have tons of pictures from the trip, but barely any good ones with everyone together. A vacation photoshoot fixes that.
And it doesn't have to feel like a super formal family photoshoot either. We can walk around, explore, let the kids do their thing, and get a mix of the classic photos along with all of the little candid moments in between.
Maine Is Basically the Perfect Backdrop
One of my favorite things about photographing people in Maine is that there are so many completely different landscapes so close together.
You can have rocky coastline and ocean views in one direction and mountains and pine trees in the other.
Around Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island, there are so many beautiful places to take photos. Acadia National Park has some of the most incredible scenery, but there are also plenty of quieter spots around the island if you want something that feels a little more private.
Whether you picture your photos by the ocean, on a quiet trail, near the harbor, or somewhere surrounded by trees and mountains, there's pretty much something for everyone.
Your Photoshoot Doesn't Have to Feel Like a Photoshoot
This is a big one for me.
You don't need to know how to pose or feel super comfortable in front of a camera. Honestly, I don't want you worrying about any of that.
I'd much rather have you walking around, talking, laughing, playing with your kids, or just enjoying where you are.
I'll guide you when you need it, but I want your photos to actually look and feel like you.
We'll definitely get the photos where everyone is looking at the camera, but I also want to capture all the moments in between. Those usually end up being some of my favorites.
It's Not Just for Families
You definitely don't need to be traveling with a big family to book a vacation photoshoot.
If you're visiting Bar Harbor with your partner, this is such a fun place for couples photos too. Maybe you're celebrating an engagement, honeymoon, anniversary, or maybe you're just taking a trip together and want some really good photos from it.
You don't need a huge milestone or special occasion. Sometimes it's nice to have photos from an ordinary chapter of your life that you'll get to look back on years from now.
Don't Stress About Perfect Maine Weather
If you've been to Maine before, you probably already know the weather can have a mind of its own.
A cloudy or foggy day definitely doesn't mean your photos are ruined. Some of my favorite Maine photos are on those moodier days.
Clouds create really soft light, fog can look amazing along the coast, and even a little wind can make photos feel more natural and full of movement.
And if the weather really isn't cooperating, we can always figure out another plan.
You'll Have Something From Your Trip That Actually Lasts
Trips go by so fast, especially when you've been looking forward to them for months.
You can buy souvenirs and take a million photos on your phone, but there's something different about having beautiful photos of the people you were actually there with.
A quick photoshoot takes up such a small part of your vacation, but you get to keep the photos long after you've left Maine.
